Student Visit to Zarif Afghan Design

The class of 15 girls were all very excited about having the chance to visit the fashion studio of an internationally-renowned Afghan designer. Many of the girls have a huge interest in fashion so it was interesting for them to see firsthand that fashion design is a career possibility for Afghan women.

AIC Students Walk a Mile for Peace in Springfield, MA, USA

With constant mentions of violence and crime in the city, students at American International College wanted to get the word out that Springfield can be a great place to live. “We wanted students and people who live in this community to come together and walk for peace in the city,” said Justin D. Roberts, the student body president and organizer of the event.

Grinnell peace activist leaves tonight for Afghanistan

A central Iowa woman leaves for Afghanistan tonight on a peace-keeping mission. Chris Gaunt, of Grinnell, is part of an international group of activists who will meet in Kabul with the Afghan Youth Peace Volunteers to plant trees and hold a candlelight vigil.
