Leaves float gently in the wind

Landing here and there

But wherever they blow

I don’t really know

If I’m able to say that it’s Fair.

Not every leaf is equal

Yet tell me, why should I care?

Some live with great ease

Others float in the breeze

They’re just leaves, no need to be Fair.

But maybe these Trade winds are different

And maybe these leaves have a heart.

If only I ever knew

The tree from which they grew

Perhaps I’d want to do my part.

Anyone can plant a tree

All it takes is a seed.

But to seek out the gardeners

And to make them your partners

Now that’s the support that they need.
