In considering whether GM seeds and crops are beneficial, one need look no further than what industrial farming has done to small, local farmers and their communities. The more sustainable farming practices and local food growing and production flourish, the more money stays in a community and recycles into more overall economic sustainability. There are many examples throughout the world of the destruction to community done by industrial behavior. In the case of GM one also need take into account the very real unknown long-term consequence of changing plant structures and the inter-connectivity of bio systems. One must separate the focus on money making from the true health of the planet and its people. In the case of local farming both can intersect and in a sustainable, positive way.
